In the mid 1950’s Vic is very interested in motorboats, indeed he moored one just off the end of Weevil Lane, Gosport. On one occasion, the boat needed to be lifted out of the water, so in his usual improvising way, he cut the rear of a coach away to reveal the chassis. This he reversed into the sea and loaded the boat onto the cut away coach. The boat was then taken to his workshop for remedial work.
